Susan Brushaber joined Schuchat, Herzog & Brenman in July 2006.

Ms. Brushaber's practice focuses on Intellectual Property Law, both international and domestic, primarily in the areas of trademark, copyright, trade secret protection and technology licensing. She also advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters, especially in connection with the formation and management of foreign subsidiaries and strategic relationships.

Prior to joining SHB in July of 2006, Ms. Brushaber was the Director of International and Legal Affairs at Quark, Inc., a leading developer of tools and technologies for desktop, workgroup and enterprise publishing, headquartered in Denver, Colorado with subsidiaries located in Europe and Asia and over 1,200 employees worldwide. While at Quark, Ms. Brushaber managed the company's intellectual property portfolio and handled corporate and commercial matters on behalf of the company's domestic and foreign subsidiaries.

Ms. Brushaber is a vice chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Section of International Law and Practice of the American Bar Association as well as a member of the Intellectual Property and Business Law Sections and a contributor to the International Law Quarterly. She was co-chair of the Anti-Counterfeiting Panel at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association. Ms. Brushaber is Vice Chair of the International Section of the Colorado Bar Association and a member of the Advisory Board of the International Business Club of Colorado.

A 1997 graduate of the Seton Hall Law School, Ms. Brushaber is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Colorado. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude in Spanish and Economics from Hood College as well as a Masters Degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to deciding to pursue a career in Law, Ms. Brushaber worked in advertising in New York City at the Telemundo Network as well as the Hispanic Advertising Divisions of J. Walter Thompson and Saatchi and Saatchi. An avid traveler, she is the author of several travel guides to South America and the Caribbean, including Frommer's South America on $40 a Day, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao Alive, Venezuela Alive, and Buenos Aires and the Best of Argentina Alive.
